Tribal Government votes to approve transfer of Nursing Home license

Good Afternoon,

Greetings from the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head Aquinnah. I am happy to inform you that at a recent meeting of the Tribal Council, on Saturday, July 8th, the Tribal Government voted unanimously to support and approves of the transfer of the Nursing Home license, currently held by the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, to Navigator Homes of Martha’s Vineyard.

This is welcomed news for entire island community. The new Nursing Home will be built on the GreenHouse model of small units of no more than 14 residents, an empowered, full-time staff, and a commitment to providing residents with a home for life. We believe that this project will have a very positive impact on the lives of our island families.

We look forward to working with MVH and Navigator Homes MV as they bring this critically needed service to reality.
